After more than a year of searching for our perfect home base, we are thrilled to introduce the R/V Garvin (formerly Garloo), a fully Coast Guard certified 55 foot custom live-aboard dive vessel.

She is currently making her way from her old home in New York to Miami, where she will undergo an extensive retrofit before going into service with Field School in March of 2016. She sleeps 16 scientists in 7 cabins, and is (or will be) equipped to act as a platform for a huge variety of research projects, from scientific diving to tagging deep water sharks. We couldn't be more excited about the research and collaborations she makes possible!
