All scientific inquiry is built on an intellectual curiosity about our world and what makes it tick - a curiosity that is not only found within the walls of universities. As such, we believe that everyone is and should be a "scientist" - engaging with their world and participating in the discourse of discovery.
Our non-profit arm, Blue Backyard, is our opportunity to put these principles into practice. It allows us to reach an even larger audience to promote public engagement with research and the marine environment, and to develop opportunities for under-represented communities in science.
